In an industry that is often plagued by scandals and controversy, Deyemi Okanlawon, has been able to rise above the norm in both the personal and professional aspects of his life.

He is proof that it is possible to be successful just by being you, and not fitting in with the crowd. And this is why we have chosen him as our #QMan for the week.

Fondly known as “Deyemi the Actor,” he is a fast-rising Nollywood actor, who is also a voice over artist, scriptwriter, filmmaker, and an overall creative entrepreneur.

After graduating with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University, Deyemi started a career as sales and marketing executive, a job he did for a number of years, before he finally quit to pursue full time acting.

Ever since then, Deyemi has featured in movies like If Tomorrow Never Comes, Road to Yesterday, Royal Hibiscus Hotel etc. He has also featured in some popular TV shows like Gidi Up, Taste of Love, Lekki Wives, Jenifa’s Diary, Castle, My Fiancé and I etc.

One thing in particular we love about Deyemi is that he has seems to have mastered the art of work-life balance, a concept many of us still struggle with.  How is he able to balance life as a successful actor with being a doting husband and dad?

From what we can see on Instagram, he is head-over-heels in love with his wife, Damilola Okonlawon, and also absolutely adores his two kids.

Earlier this year he fulfilled a promise he had made to his wife to take her to Paris – he revealed that he was able to keep his promise after six years of marriage and two kids. He shared the happy moments on Instagram and we had to grab tissues guys, ‘cos it was so sweet!

He is a multiple-award winning actor – having won prestigious awards like “Best supporting actor in a short film” at the Short Film Festival, “Best new media online video” at the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards) and “Best actor of the year” at City People Movie Awards, among others.

Keep setting a good example, Deyemi Okanlawon! We’re rooting for you.
