Angela White (aka Blac Chyna) is back — with something softer, slower, and surprisingly refreshing.

Her new track“I Am,” just dropped today, and while it leans more toward spoken-word than traditional music, it’s definitely a vibe. Sonic affirmation meets mellow beat. Think sound bath, but with scripture in the subtext.

She opens the track with:
“In a world often overshadowed by greed, hatred, and deception, I discovered the path to true peace through Jesus Christ.”

There’s no hook, no hype — just Chyna (well, Angela) reflecting on who she is now.
From there, she walks us through a series of gentle affirmations:
“I am at peace with my past and excited for my future. I forgive myself and learn from my mistakes.”

It’s calm. Grounded. Confident.

If you’ve been following her public transformation — baptisms, name reclaiming, lifestyle switch-ups — this track feels like a sonic journal entry. She’s not preaching, just being. And somehow, that makes the message land harder.

It’s giving spiritual girl era.
It’s giving soft strength.
It’s giving “Jesus changed me, and I actually like who I’m becoming.”

Whether you’re into the music or just curious about her journey, “I Am” by Blac Chyna is worth a listen. Not for the charts, but for the calm it carries. The track ends with a simple declaration: “I am chosen.”

And yes, we’ll definitely be replaying this one.

When Tems said she was the “Leading Vibe,” she meant it.

And now, she’s creating space for others to lead too.

The Grammy-winning artist just launched the Leading Vibe Initiative, created to support and uplift African women in music, from producers to songwriters to rising vocalists. For Tems, who taught herself how to make music without a clear path or guide, this is personal. She’s been that girl with a voice and a vision, but no blueprint. And now that she’s paved her way, she’s holding the door open for others to walk through.

“I want to be someone that shows people that there’s hope,” Tems shared. “Because the most heartbreaking thing is to see a light dimmed and a fire never ignited.”

Starting this August in Lagos and moving across the continent, the Leading Vibe Initiative will provide mentorship, tools, and a network of support for African women who are breaking barriers and building boldly. The deadline to apply is July 13, and this isn’t just another music program; it’s a movement.

Because, as successful as the music industry may seem, women — especially African women — still face a ceiling. There’s brilliance, but no platform. Talent, but little support. And Tems is using her platform to change that narrative.

This is for the women who are often overlooked in boardrooms and studio sessions. The ones with something to say, something to sing, something to shift. The ones who are not afraid to lead.

“While the music industry is great, there hasn’t really been a space for women. This is a space for the ones who believe — and have a desire to be seen and heard.”

The Leading Vibe Initiative goes beyond sound; it’s shaping the future of women in music. Built by women, for women, from the continent to the world.

  1. Leading isn’t just about being the loudest in the room. Sometimes, it’s about being the one who dares to make space for others.

Attention music artistes! Would you like to know why your songs may not be getting the media’s attention? Then you should check out “We Don’t Like Your Song,” a podcast that gives music artistes insightful reasons why their songs get little or no attention from media personalities and including bloggers.

The host, Ife Ajagbe, is a seasoned broadcaster, who has worked with four radio stations (Zuma FM, Gold FM, Metro FM and Lagos Talks) in ten years.

Speaking on why she decided to create this podcast, Ife says:

“This podcast is genuinely born out of a passion for Nigerian artistes and the need for the upcoming acts to get the attention of the media space by getting the basics fixed.

There are too many musicians competing for attention so the press kit, the song format, clean songs for radio, etc are not issues that media personalities want to have to worry about.”

Each episode of the podcast is one-minute long, and is available on Soundcloud and YouTube.

Check out the first episode  titled, ‘Why should I care?’

The “Shaku Shaku” dance trend that Nigerian rapper, Olamide, started, doesn’t seem to be going out of style anytime soon.

Everyone seems to be able to do this dance so well, lol apart from a few of us who haven’t quite gotten the hang of it. It can be so embarassing when you are at a party or just hanging out with friends and then Olamide’s “Science Student” or that “Iphone 7 Iphone 8 Legbegbe song” (please what’s the actual name of that song and who sang it? we still don’t know but it’s catchy as hell lol) comes on and everyone is doing the Shaku Shaku, and you try to join in but just end up looking like a kangaroo whose legs got caught in a trap and is trying to get out.

Watch this dance tutorial by Chop Daily and you’ll be a Shaku Shaku pro in no time!
