Sticking to your fitness goals is hard. And starting again after falling off? Even harder. Whether you took a break because life got busy, motivation dipped, or the thought of stepping back into the gym gave you heart palpitations, you’re not alone.

The good news is: you don’t have to go from zero to athlete overnight. Easing back into your fitness journey can be as simple as swapping the elevator for the stairs or stretching while your skincare soaks in. It doesn’t have to be dramatic to be effective.

Gym anxiety is real, and for some of us, it’s the biggest barrier. The mirrors, the machines, the people who somehow never seem to sweat? Yeah, it’s a lot. But fitness isn’t about performing, it’s about feeling good in your body again. And the gym isn’t the only way to get there. You can take walks in your neighborhood, join a YouTube pilates challenge, or dance to your favorite songs in your room. Movement is movement, sis. Start where you are.

If the pressure to “get it right” stops you from starting, try shifting your mindset. Instead of aiming to be perfect, aim to be consistent. Instead of focusing on weight loss or aesthetics, think about how you want to feel—stronger, more energized, a little more in tune with yourself.

Also: don’t underestimate the power of cute activewear, a good playlist, and a group chat that hypes you up. Sometimes that’s all you need to go from “not today” to “okay, maybe 15 minutes.”

So if you’ve been thinking, “I need to get back on it,” consider this your gentle nudge. You don’t need to be extreme. You just need to start. No pressure. No guilt. Just vibes, baby steps, and a whole lot of grace.

It’s funny how people see an overweight person and immediately assume that they are fat because they love food. That is usually not the case.

For me, when I was over 20KG overweight, it was because I was an emotional eater. When I was stressed out, I would eat. When I was sad, I would eat. I also celebrated my successes with food! It pretty much became my panacea.

Till one day the obvious truth became so apparent. Food made me feel better only briefly, but the long term effects were sooo detrimental to my mental and physical health. I knew it was time to make a change. So now whenever I feel stressed out or sad, I just go to the gym instead of eating unhealthy food. It hasn’t been easy!

Been on this journey for over a year now. I hope that by sharing this, someone somewhere who is going through a similar journey will be encouraged.

I’ll be sharing my wellness journey with you guys here in my diary so stay tuned.

Love,
