Fashionistas all over social media are currently in a frenzy over these fist-sized bags designed by Simon Porte Jacquemus from his Spring 2018 collection. It’s a bit astonishing that despite the fact that these bags were released since last year, there has been a sudden rise in their popularity just recently.

The bag, which is just 3 inches tall, has been found on the arm of A-listers like Rihanna, Beyonce, Kim Kardashian amongst others.

The Jacquemus’ Le Chiquito Bag is sold for $500which is equivalent to N180,000.

What are your thoughts about this new trend? Would you splurge on this?

For me, I love carrying big bags, I want to comfortably leave the house with all my accessories for the day intact: My phone chargers, headset, comb, makeup, power bank, etc. If I have to carry this Jacquemus’ Le Chiquito Bag at this price? hmmmmm(*rolls eyes*)… I reserve my comment.

Destiny’s Child was arguably one of the most successful all-girl band before the depature of Letoya and Latavia in January 2000. Both ladies left the group to find new management after financial disputes and disagreements with manager, Mathew Knowles, over his preferential treatment towards his daughter, Beyonce and Kelly Rowland.

What people thought was an amicable split soon turned ugly when the “Say My Name” video which debuted a month after they exited the group, featured two new members Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin in their place. In several media interviews, the ousted group members would reveal that they weren’t even aware that they had been replace until they saw this video.

The legal battles and public war of words that ensued thereafter severed the band’s connections with the two former founding members.

Over a decade later, the forgiveness that seemed elusive for the ladies has finally been found – though fans wished for this reconciliation many years ago. Recently, Beyonce was seen with Latavia and Letoya respectively on two seperate occasions during her co-tour with Jay Z, OTRII.

Two things their reunion teaches us is that time heals wounds and forgiveness is possible.

Though forgiveness seems like a simple concept, it remains one of the difficult things for us to give, especially because of the negative thoughts that keep us miserable when we attempt to forgive — “You were wronged.” “Forgiving means you are weak”. “Hold on to the anger.” “Don’t let them off that easy”

However, the purpose of forgiveness is not to forget or deny hurt nor is it primarily about reconciling with the offender. It’s about taking power over how we choose to respond.

If you are struggling to let go and forgive, here are a few nuggets to keep in mind:

When we choose to hold on to hurt, pain, resentment, and anger it harms us far more than it harms the person that has caused us hurt or pain. Forgiveness allows you to put the burden down and let go.

Forgiveness lets you regain your own power by allowing you to control the situation by the way you react to it. We maintain anger, regret, hatred, or resentment towards someone and give up our power to others when we refuse to forgive – we allow ourselves to become weak.

Forgiveness is a gift you give to yourself, to be at peace and to be happy. You’re not doing this for them, you’re doing it for yourself, to set yourself free from the feelings of hurt and anger. Many people waste years of their lives in bitterness and resentment when they could, through forgiveness, have lived that time in happiness.

We can’t erase the past, but we can choose to let go of the pain in order to live a happier, more fulfilling life.

The two singers were pictured up close and personal at Beyoncé and JAY-Z‘s OTR II Tour in Arlington, Texas.

This is the first time the pair have been photographed together since Luckett was ousted from the all-girl group 18 years ago.

The adorable photo where Beyoncé embraced Letoya’s pregnant belly, was uploaded to Beyoncé‘s website on Tuesday. The next day, LeToya shared the photo on Instagram and captioned it “Love. ”

Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Lawson, also took to Instagram to congratulae Letoya on her pregnancy.

“Congratulations LeToya you are gonna be the best mommy,” Tina wrote.

LeToya, was one of the original members of Destiny’s Child, the record-breaking group that gave us hit songs such as: Bills, Bills, Bills and Bug-a-boo.

The former DC member, recently revealed that she left the group kicking and screaming but also said, that she has nothing but love and support for her former band mates.

LeToya told Rolling Stone last May,“I’m so proud of every single lady that was a part of DC. We’re all in support of each other, we’re all grown, all doing our own things.”

“I be out here stanning. Kelly is everywhere. Bey, I don’t know how she does it all, creating crazy visual albums and then you’re gonna carry two human beings at the same time? She’s awesome.”

Hopefully there will be a DC reunion in future cos we still stan hard for the girls.

“Once poised to become the breakout star of Destiny’s Child, Rowland’s path to success has involved more recesses from the spotlight than expected.”

This implies that she isn’t quite the break out star that we all expected. However, the interview takes a surprising turn when Rowland informs the interviewer that she’s not having the world tell her who she is. This, I believe, is a good moral story for the woman who’s had it with the naysayers; for the girl who’s gotten more beat down than she has gotten lifted up.

Rowland’s hit single, Dirty Laundry which was released in 2016 was an open letter of sorts. She dished on her fleeting moments of jealousy towards fellow Destiny’s Child star, Beyonce, and her old abusive relationship. This, I believe was her turning point.

Ever since then, Kelly’s career has had numerous high points. From bagging endorsements, to playing producer to OWN tv’s ‘Chasing Destiny’; to her role in the hit competition, Xfactor as she replaced former singer, Britney Spears as a judge, and authoring a motherhood book entitled; Whoa Baby, the singer has definitely achieved numerous milestones. You can also catch her looking like a smoking hot tamale in customised designer outfits (she’s got a banging bod so of course, every designer wants her wearing them) or on the arms of her beloved husband with her 3-year-old, Titan (who by the way loves ‘say my name’) cuddling close by. If that isn’t a blessed life, I don’t know what is.

I’ll end off with her words which I believe are a key take-out for you and I.

“Believing things that people said about me. That was probably the hardest one. If someone says something negative, nine times out of 10, it’s usually a situation where it’s something they secretly feel they are, and they project that onto you. You have to know not to own it. It’s so funny because I’ll tell young girls that now, [though] I know that they don’t understand at that moment. I pray that some of them do. You really have to remind yourself how much people project.”

“You can’t allow the rest of the world to tell you who you are. Otherwise, you’ll internalize all of the insecurities of the world.”

You heard it from Kelly, stop internalizing people’s opinions of you, more often than not, they’re a reflection of battles they’re encountering in their own lives.

The star also revealed that she has new music coming out soon, so we’re sitting on the edges of our chairs for that one. We cannot wait!

Some of the night’s other winners included: Yara Shahidi, Beyonce, Serena Williams, Cardi B (who bagged two awards okurrr), Bruno Mars and Kendrick Lamar who took home the Album of the year with D.A.M.N…. just to name a few.

Our girl, Tiffany Haddish also took home the best actress award. You know she’s always ready. We love it when black excellence gets rewarded. Yass!

According to ESSENCE, the 9-track collaboration comprises verses from both of the superstar entertainers on each song, with lyrical messaging centered around celebrating all things Black culture as only they can. One run through of the debut joint effort hears the duo reference everything from the beauty of Black love, to police brutality, to their naysayers, to mass incarceration, to ESSENCE Fest and much more.

Upon announcing the release, a visual for one of album’s single was made public. Entitled, APESHIT, it features powerful African imagery accompanied by French art in The Louvre Palace in Paris. They rented out the Louvre fot the video. How awesome is that? The location is home to some of the most precious works of art in the whole world. If that doesn’t say black excellence, I’m not sure what does.

The album is also a family affair as word on the streets is that their daughter, Blue Ivy, also makes a cameo on one of the tracks, sending shout outs to her twin siblings, Sir and Rumi Carter.

Oh what a time to be alive! Although Beyonce is steadily trying to force feed Jay down our throats, we’ll forgive her this time around. We stan a supportive wife and we love our favourite musical duo. Suddenly we’re reminded who we’ve crowned hip-hop’s power couple. We’re getting our lives!

Ade took to Instagram a few hours ago, to share the photos below, as well as her experience with styling the two stars for such a prestigious event.

She captioned the photos:

Her journey to being a professional stylist is replete with tangible lessons we all can learn, about faith, carving out a niche for oneself, and going above and beyond what is expected of you.

Speaking on how she knew that a styling profession was her calling, Ade, who has a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Textile and Technology from Buffalo State College, once told Teen Vogue:

 …I knew styling and designing would be the career that I was in, so to prepare myself for that I interned a lot while in college. That’s how I landed my position at Teen Vogue. From there, I would intern with different stylists to learn more about that as a career. Once I recognized it was something I wanted to do, I freelanced until I landed my first celebrity client to style on my own. From there, I’ve just made growth a priority.

In addition to interning at Teen Vogue, she also interned with beauty PR firm Tractenberg & Co. and W magazine.

On what sets her apart from others in her field, Ade told XoNecole:

“You have to know your competition and you have to see what they’re doing that’s keeping them consistent in work. Think about what you can do in your niche and how to be an innovator with your clients. The reason why some stylists don’t find consistent work is because they do the bare minimum. They do like, ‘Okay, let me go call in clothes’ or ‘Let me go to the store and buy something and then put it on my client’ when it’s like you’re costing them money now. A stylist like me or a bigger stylist has relationships. We don’t need to go to Versace and shop. We can just get Versace in for you through our relationships with the PR company.”

In her over 6-year career, Ade has styled all the biggest celebrities including Beyonce, Big Sean, Nicole Richie, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, and more.

We’re so inspired by Ade Samuel, and we wish her continued success in her career.

You may recall that Michelle had suffered quite a couple of heartbreaks in the past, including that horrible time she caught her ex cheating when his sidechick tweeted about their secret rendezvous sessions.

Essence reports that Michelle, 37, didn’t tell any of her friends about 40-year-old Chad, who is a pastor and sports chaplain, until she was completely sure he was “the one.” She reveals that she didn’t even tell former band mates, Beyonce and Kelly.

“I didn’t even tell any people I was talking to Chad. I wanted to treat this relationship differently because obviously, all my past relationships have failed…I didn’t want to talk about another relationship that possibly wasn’t gonna go anywhere.”

The report further states that “…the couple met in March 2017 at a spiritual retreat run by Johnson. Although the Illinois native sought refuge in the experience to get over a bad breakup, she instead found another connection to God and a connection to her heart as well. ”

You may recall that Bey was supposed to headline last year’s festival, but canceled due to doctor’s orders, because she was pregnant with twins (Sir and Rumi Carter) at the time. Her performance was so worth the wait! And gosh Bey’s post-pregnancy snapback game is out of this world. We need her to show us the way.

Okay, so in case you don’t know what “Coachella” is girls, Wikipedia and Google are your friends: The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly referred to as Coachella or the Coachella Festival) is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, located in the Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. The event features musical artists from many genres of music, including rock, indie, hip hop, and electronic dance music, as well as art installations and sculptures.

So back to the matter: Beyonce’s performance. It was two hours long. Two whole hours of amazing performances back-to-back. Her hubby, Jay-Z and sister, Solange made appearances.

But most importantly, there was a Destiny’s Child reunion! This was by far our favourite part of the entire performance.

Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland looked and sounded great but we think it would have been even more epic if original band members Letoya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson were added to the mix. Now, THAT would have been THE reunion of a lifetime.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z will kick off their joint “On the Run II” tour this summer, and we can’t wait.
