If you’ve been scrolling through Instagram lately, you’ve probably come across oil being poured — slowly dripping down faces, shoulders, even hands. It’s the Anointed Challenge, and it has fast become one of the most striking faith-inspired trends we’ve seen in a while.

Pastor Emmanuel Iren kicked it off to promote his upcoming song with Godswill Oyor, set to drop on October 10. He also shared a video highlighting Acts 10:38 and Isaiah 61:1 — scriptures that anchor the message behind the song.

And honestly? We can’t get enough of it. From Jennifer Obiuwevbi, Adura Ojofeitimi, Evelyn Ajayi, Dieko, to Bunmi Praise — these are some of our absolute favourites. Their photos carry such a striking mix of grace, boldness, and creativity that it’s hard to scroll past without pausing.

Now, we’re just counting down to October 10. If the challenge is anything to go by, the song is going to be just as powerful.

The world mourns the sudden and heartbreaking loss of actor and creative force Malcolm-Jamal Warner, who tragically passed away at the age of 54 on July 20, 2025, after drowning in Costa Rica.Young Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Theo Huxtable in The Cosby Show,

Best known for his iconic role as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show, Malcolm-Jamal Warner was more than a sitcom star; he was a culture-shaper, a truth-teller, and a creative rooted in purpose. For over four decades, he used his voice to tell meaningful stories across television, film, poetry, and music.

As a Black boy growing up on national TV in the 1980s, Malcolm gave us representation that felt smart, flawed, lovable, and real. He reminded us that young Black men could be complex, vulnerable, and full of potential. He carried that same intentionality into every role that followed from Malcolm & Eddie, Reed Between the Lines, to his later roles in The Resident and 9-1-1.

Off-screen, Warner was a Grammy-winning poet, a jazz musician, a podcaster, and a quiet advocate for Black wellness, fatherhood, and faith. He lived his life with a clear moral compass and a deep respect for legacy.

We remember him not just as an actor, but as a man who made space for softness, strength, and self-expression long before it was celebrated.

We honour the gift that was Malcolm-Jamal Warner. His presence shaped a generation, and his absence will be deeply felt.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire the storytellers and dreamers rising today.

When I first clicked play on Tyler Perry’s Straw, I thought I was just watching a movie. I wasn’t just emotional at the end, I was undone. As a Christian woman, it didn’t feel like fiction. It felt familiar.

Janiyah wasn’t crazy—she was crushed. A single mother fighting for her child, ignored by the system, stretched beyond human capacity. And while her actions were extreme, her exhaustion wasn’t. That’s what made it hurt. Because for many of us, Straw isn’t entertainment. It’s a reflection.

So many Christian women are silently carrying the weight of their homes, families, jobs, and ministries. We’ve learned how to smile through the stress, quote Scripture through the anxiety, and show up when we’re running on empty. But Straw shows what happens when a woman isn’t seen—until she breaks.

One question haunted me throughout the film: Where was the church? Where was the support system? The prayer circle? The intervention before the explosion?

We often tell women to be strong, to “have faith,” to pray it away. But prayer alone is not a replacement for help. God uses therapy. He works through community. He heals through conversation, not just silence.

Watching Straw reminded me that faith doesn’t mean pretending you’re okay. It means trusting God enough to admit when you’re not. Janiyah’s story may be fictional, but her pain is real for many women—even women of faith.

So if you’ve been pushing through, quietly struggling, or feeling invisible, let this be your reminder: You are allowed to rest. To ask for help. To fall apart and still be held by God.

Straw wasn’t just a film. It was a wake-up call—to look around, check in, and care deeply. Because nobody should have to reach a breaking point just to be heard.

Nollywood star Kunle Remi and his wife, Tiwi, have welcomed their first child, a beautiful baby girl named Eemi Oluwa (the breath of God). Their journey to parenthood was anything but easy, making this moment even more special.

Taking to Instagram, Kunle shared a heartfelt post, revealing the challenges they faced along the way:

From an unexpected and unsettling medical discovery… to complete bed rest. From juggling demanding work schedules… to hopping on flights, both locally and internationally. From being apart… to finally being together. From an early arrival… to the unfolding of God’s perfect timing. From waiting, countless NICU visits, and clinging to God for 11 weeks and 3 days (that’s 80 days of faith),” Kunle wrote.

The couple’s resilience and trust in God carried them through, and their little girl’s arrival is nothing short of a miracle. “Our story is living proof that God is God — unfailing, unwavering, and faithful till the very end. We’ve been blessed with a WONDER. We’ve been blessed with EEMI OLUWA — the BREATH OF GOD.”

Kunle and Tiwi’s love story has always been one that inspires, but this new chapter speaks of endurance, hope, and divine timing. As they step into parenthood, fans, friends, and colleagues have flooded their comment sections with love, prayers, and congratulatory messages.

Indeed, baby Eemi Oluwa’s arrival is a testimony of faith and perseverance, and we couldn’t be happier for the Remis!

Some songs aren’t just catchy, they stick with you. Favour by Lawrence Oyor is one of those tracks that not only stays in your head but in your heart. From the first chant of “Favour! It surrounds me like a shield”, you can feel the shift in the atmosphere.

This isn’t just a song, it’s a revival. The lyrics are simple but powerful, reminding us that God’s favour isn’t something we’re chasing, it’s something we walk in. As the song flows, it feels like a celebration of divine breakthroughs.

The intensity builds, and before you know it, you’re declaring Power! Fire! Angels! It’s like a reminder of all the heavenly goodness surrounding us. Then Mercy comes in, and it hits differently: Mercy has washed away my sin and is opening doors for me. Now that’s grace in action.

The best part? The repetition makes it easy to get lost in worship, and you just can’t help but sing along. If you haven’t had a listen yet, you’re missing out. If you have, what part of Favour speaks to you the most? Let’s talk about it. 💖

When you think of innovation, you probably picture flying cars or AI assistants, not a robot that can braid hair. But that’s exactly what two Harvard students, Yinka Ogunbiyi and David Afolabi, have created. Their invention, Halo Braid, is a first-of-its-kind braiding robot that’s changing how we think about beauty, technology, and culture all at once.

Ogunbiyi and Afolabi built Halo Braid to solve a problem every Black woman knows too well: spending hours at the salon for braids. Their machine cuts that time from nearly six hours to just thirty minutes, giving stylists the chance to double their business while saving clients precious time.

The duo recently won Harvard’s 2025 President’s Innovation Challenge, taking home the grand prize for their breakthrough. But beyond the money and recognition, what stands out is how they’ve managed to merge tech and texture — creating a solution rooted in both innovation and identity.

Halo Braid isn’t trying to replace stylists. It’s designed to work with them, handling the repetitive motions while leaving room for the artistry that makes each braid style unique. It’s a reminder that technology doesn’t have to erase culture; it can actually protect it.

From the lab to the salon chair, Halo Braid is a glimpse of what it looks like when innovation listens to culture instead of trying to rewrite it. It’s proof that the future of tech can be inclusive, creative, and yes — beautifully braided.
