I’ve been hearing about Johnny Drille for a while now. I would hear his songs here and there on the radio and I loved his sound so much because I adore alternative rock music. I was that girl in secondary school that would be listening to 3 Doors Down or Staind or Creed when the rest of my peers were obsessed with the latest Puff Daddy hit.
So when I found out about Johnny Drille, I was fascinated by how he found a way to fuse this alternative sound I was used to with some Nigerian flavor.
Anyhoo so I’ve been appreciating his music from a distance for a while. But I just heard this beautiful song by him called ‘Finding Efe’ and it has made me no longer want to appreciate from a distance – I think I’m ready to submerge myself in a river of Johnny Drille. I’m literally about to go crazy with my iTunes purchases right now. What a beautiful song and video!
