Talk Show Host, Wendy Williams, sure is a fighter. The way she keeps picking herself up after every setback makes her a true boss babe.
In case you didn’t know, Wendy, 54, returned to her day time talk show after a two-month hiatus.
She took a leave of absence from The Wendy Williams Show back in December, and it was widely reported that she did so after experiencing complications due to Graves’ disease. However, many fans think her departure had more to do with her personal life than her health challenges. For over a year, there have been cheating rumors surrounding her husband, Kevin Hunter. During her comeback appearance on her show recently, Wendy spoke out about her health and marriage.
On her health, she said: “If you don’t know about thyroid disease, it’s a lifetime thing and they are always adjusting and always doing stuff and it can really screw you over. They are adjusting my thyroid meds, and then the eyeballs attached to the thyroid, which is my Graves’ disease.“
Addressing the cheating allegations, Wendy asserted that she and her husband are doing just fine.

“I want to shout out to my husband. I’m still wearing my ring. Believe me you, when you’ve been with somebody for 28 years…married for 25 years…we know each other. He’s my best friend, he’s my lover, he’s all this and he’s all that. I know what you’ve been seeing and I know what the streets have been talking about.
Anybody who’s been married for 5 minutes or 500 years, you know marriages have ebbs and flows. Marriages are not easy. Don’t ask me about mine until you see this [ring] gone and it ain’t going anywhere — not in this lifetime.“
Last year, Kevin was spotted hanging out with his alleged mistress, Sharina Hudson and then earlier this year, the rumors hit the internet again that he was still cheating. We all know that was a big blow to Wendy because – 1) someone she trusts actually betrayed her trust and 2), Wendy is known to always report mishaps in other people’s lives, and suddenly, the table flipped!

While she has made it clear that she’s standing by her man, it’s easy to get carried away with that part of the news. Let us focus on some key lessons that Wendy’s approach to life has taught us.
We all fall and will keep falling. This is life and this is normal. Failure is a dreadful thing and leaves us feeling sad and dejected, but when we hit rock bottom, the only place we go is up.
No matter how many times you fall, you’ll never be a failure. For every perceived failure, there is a lesson learned.
Many may say that Wendy is currently experiencing a failed marriage due to the alleged infidelity. But hey, who are we to judge? She seems to be making the most of the situation, choosing to stick by her man despite his shortcomings. Can we talk about how she is handling this public ridicule with so much grace? It can’t be easy, but she’s pushing through this, and we can’t help but admire her strength.
Also, in the health department, it’s encouraging to see that when Wendy’s health continued to deteriorate she made a wise decision – taking a much-needed long break. It’s worthy of mention because the culture tells you to keep grinding and be a proud card-carrying member of #TeamNoSleep all day every day. We have become a society that glamorizes hustling, even at the expense of our own health. Wendy’s predicament reminds us that health comes first, always.
On a more superficial note, Wendy is looking better than we have ever seen her. She’s got this inner glow that’s radiating and she’s added a few pounds of healthy, happy weight.
Wendy continues to thrive even in the face of obstacles. Now, that’s a motivation!
