We will definitely factor in a flight with Ethiopian Airlines on our next vacation. They just served up some serious #blackgirlmagic by becoming the first airline to operating an all-female crew for an African flight.

The historical feat was accomplished on December 16th. The flight took off from Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and landed in Lagos, Nigeria. According to reports, all member of the flight crew were women, including the pilots, cabin crew, flight ramp operators and dispatchers.

Apparently, This isn’t the first time Ethiopian Airlines has had an all-female crew. In 2015, they reportedly did the same thing – flying from Addis Ababa to Bangkok.

Travel Noire reports that After the 2015 flight, a rep from the airline stated:

“This is an ample opportunity to inspire young African female students to believe in their dreams and embark to fill the skill gap for Aviation professionals.”
